The Old Limehouse Town Hall, where Stitches in Time is based, was formerly the site of the Labour History Museum and was the repository for trade union banners. These banners were an inspiration for the Millennium Tapestry project.

The Town Hall is on the fringe of the Thames Gateway, a stepping-stone between the old and new centres of London, Canary Wharf and Limehouse.

Stitches in Time is committed to supporting the Limehouse Town Hall Consortium Trust in its aim to restore and re-dedicate the Town Hall  to community and cultural use as the Living History project.
