Millennium Collection

A collection of 50 textile hangings ( measuring 254cm x 305cm, 8ft x 10ft) produced over a period of seven years. The Stitches in Time's Millennium project, was created by 3000 children, women and older people  between 1993 and 2000. Each tapestry explores an aspect of the social history of Tower Hamlets. The collection is kept as an educational resource and is  housed at Limehouse Town Hall, with an accompanying educational pack describing the making of the Textile hangings and the history surrounding each of 50 pieces.
